Dates: b. 1958

Originally trained in France and Belgium he spent two and a half years in England, working at Richard Batterham’s studio, and also at Wenford Bridge with Michael Cardew. In 1984 he set up his studio in the Vosges where he creates unique wood-fired stoneware sculptural pieces often inspired by natural forms such as geological or coral formations. He likes to work on a large scale and in 2009 he built a giant clay sculpture fired in the courtyard of the V&A Museum to mark the opening of the new Ceramic Galleries.
