Andrew and Joanna YOUNG

Dates: b. 1949 and 1950

The couple met while training at Farnham College in 1971. After Farnham they spent two summers working with Gwyn Hanssen in France. In 1975 Peter Starkey offered the Youngs workshop space in Norfolk and they have lived and worked in the area since then. They produce a range of wares in raw glazed white ware, including plates, jugs, casseroles and lemon squeezers which are marketed locally and in London. Although influenced by the shapes and decoration of eighteenth century wares their designs are essentially modern and intended for everyday practical use in the home.
