Geoff BOND

Dates: b.1948

Born in North West England, after a career as an electrical engineer he trained at his local art college before studying ceramics at the Central School in London. In 1981 he moved to Aberystwyth when he produced the works in the collection. He moved to England but has more recently returned to Wales and now teaches at Coleg Harlech. He works in a range of media including watercolour landscapes.

The items in the collection are called Tondinos, tondino being the italian for 'little plate' or circular form. They are highly complex in their constuction with delicate, fragile three-dimensional modelling sometimes executed with dental tools or using extruded forms.
