	Cathi JEFFERSON (Canada) Dates: b.1953 Born in Vancouver, Canada she attended clay courses with Herman Venema whom she went on to work for at his studio at Matsqui between 1974-1991. She established her own studio in North Vancouver and built a 35 cubic foot high fire salt car kiln in 1994. She makes salt-glazed, wood-fired functional ware, wheel-thrown and manipulated into square or triangular shapes. These are decorated with impressions from nature or geometric shapes. She was a demonstrator at the 1999 International Ceramics Festival in Aberystwyth and returned to Wales, to work with Phil Rogers at his studio in Rhyader in 2002.
