	Norah GODLEE (Australia) Dates: 1900-1985 She studied at the School of Arts and Crafts in Adelaide, (c.1915-18), before teaching china painting from a studio in Adelaide's Paringa Building, (1918-25). She then travelled to England to study at the Central School of Arts and Crafts, 1925-28, where her pottery teacher was Dora Billington (1890-1968). While in Europe she travelled widely including visits to Wedgwood and the Leach Pottery in St Ives. On her return to South Australia she established the Lyme Pottery, 1928-32, with the help of Mary Egerton (b.1908), a friend from the Central School. She ceased to pot and instead trained as a nurse though returned to china painting on her retirement in 1960. She produced stoneware but is mainly known for her Art Deco painted designs on china blanks which were exhibited with the Royal South Australia Society of Arts.
