Dates: b.1946
Born in Prague and she studied at the University of Applied Arts and now lives and works in the Czech Republic. Vikova uses porcelain, making sculptures of heads which she finds fuses her interest in two dimensional painting with the three dimensional models. Her work also includes surreal aspects which inform the construction of non-functioning "utility" items, In 1994 she was judge for the prestigious New Zealand Fletcher Challenge Award in Ceramics. The small jug in the collection was purchased at the Craft Potters Association Festival of Ceramics in 1992 where she was a demonstrator. |
