KERAMIKA - Mandy McIntosh

A New Media Project

Web-based artwork

A net-based animation work in which ceramics from the Aberystwyth ceramics collection are re-situated in fantasy and utopian environments and interpreted by children.

BAFTA nominated film-maker, Mandy McIntosh has been artist in residence for the Ceramic Collection and Archive to coincide with Museums and Galleries Month in May. She has worked at the School of Art and has also undertaken children's workshops at the Arts Centre.

Education Programme with schools

Using drawing, video, sound and computer-animation based on ceramics from the collection she will create a web-based artwork to be presented at the International Ceramics Festival and at the National Eisteddfod in August 2001.

The residency was funded by Cywaith Cymru. Artworks Wales and the Council for Museums in Wales.
