	Julie GOLDSTONE Dates: Born and educated in Cardiff, she completed her BA at South Glamorgan Institute of Higher Education where she specialised in ceramics. Inspired by a variety of sources from medieval costume to chimney pots she makes quirky forms handbuilt in porcelain. The patterns and decoration are created at the modelling stage and are emphasised by a wash of pigment applied before the final firing. The pieces in the collection were purchased from the exhibition of contemporary Welsh crafts 'In the First Place' organised by Aberystwyth Arts Centre in 1989.
