Sabina TEUTEBERG (Switzerland)
Dates: b.1947
Was born and trained in Zurich Switzerland. She trained in ceramics at Croydon Shool of Art and Design and set up a workshop in London in 1982. She makes a range of functional colourful tableware using the jigger and jolley method as well as large scale items. Coloured clays are first inlaid into the slab surface to create simple strong patterns and the clay is then formed into dishes, plates and cups. The fine art training she received in Zurich gave her a thorough grounding in colour theory and her choice of colours in her work influences the patterns. She is a fellow of the Craftsmen Potters Association and lives in Leicestershire. |
