This piece was purchased at the International Ceramics Festival at Aberystwyth where the artist was one of the demonstrators. Her figures, half-chicken, half-human are hand modelled and decorated in bright coloured enamels. They seem a bit ridiculous and childish but they are also wicked and wild, even erotic. They suggest ancient goddesses, folk tales or perhaps cartoon figures. The piece feels edgy and spiky in the hand.
